Hello and welcome to our site, my name is Eliane and I’ve founded this project and sought the help of the following team of people to make this possible. I have always wanted to contribute to improving the lives of people living in developing countries and currently donate to the Children’s Hunger Fund. However, I’ve often thought that providing clean water would be one of the most leveraged things I could do to help thousands of people towards better health and quality of life. I have wanted to dig a well for some time now and had previously sought for information to fundraise to dig a well. However, having been inspired by a project I participated in during a recent trip to the US, where we built houses, contributed to construction of a school and handed out food to a Mexican community, I decided to take things to a new level.

Together with the help of the following people, and I’m sure many more along this journey, I’ve committed to fundraising $30,000US to pay for the African Well Fund’s next project. This is a big goal indeed, however with the help of others such a figure should be easily attainable.

I simply ask that you consider the hardship these people in Africa face for mere survival, things that we in Westernised society typically take for granted. With your generous help we can change the lives of thousands for the better. I believe that we in the developed world have a duty and responsibility to help those who are less fortunate. Every life has value and we have the power within us to ensure every life has the right to good health and a fresh start. Together we do make a difference!

Project Update
Here is the proposal for the current well project "Africare/Ghana proposes to implement the Water for Cocoa Farmers Phase III (WCF III) project that will provide potable water, toilets and water and sanitation management training to six communities of the Wassa Amenfi West and the Assin North Districts". This will benefit 4000 people! That works out to being $7.50 per head for clean water and sanitation! The funds will construct five wells and three toilet facilities to reduce water borne diseases. As well as establishing water and sanitation committees, training community health volunteers and hosting community awareness sessions.
